copy dvr files and load them onto the ps3: possible? - Blu-ray Forum

there are several hd shows saved on my dvr that i want to load onto the ps3 so i can erase them from the dvr. is it possible? i have a scientific atlanta explorer 8300hd. it has a usb 2.0 input on the front, is it possible to copy the files to a jumpdrive or extrernal harddrive then copy them onto the ps3?

I don't know.

However, I have a fusion 5 HDTV card in a pc in the basement,.. it hardly gets used now but when I first got my PS3 I saved a few things and used HDTV2Mpeg to convert them a bit and then transfer-ed them to the PS3 over the network.

That worked.

But,.. I don't know about that DVR. Most DVR's won't let you get to the stuff without mods. (Or I don't know.)

i know that this dvr has the ability (as it states in the menu) to "Copy to vcr" but i am not sure what the function would do to serve my purpose.
