This was only a matter of time, right? LEON and FIFTH ELEMENT always seem to get released at about the same time.

Judging by the title listed in the preorder by Best Buy I would guess both cuts. The Professional is the name of the U.S. cut. Leon is the original title for the French uncut version.

Day one for me. Not seen this for a while either. Says 109 mins in the details section on the Best Buy website which is the theatrical release but hopefully we get both.

Don't care about steelbooks, will buy the nicer cover art. If there's only one cut on it then it better be Leon.

You always want them shorter cuts, you remind me of my wife. "Over two hours? NOPE! Where's my phone?"

It's not about the length, it's what they do with it that counts. (tee hee)

Just look at my collection, I've got plenty of old-school epics and I don't moan about them being too long or too turgid. What annoys me about the modern phenomena of 'extended cuts' is them taking something that's precisely edited to fit a particular rhythm and wedging in all this extra stuff which usually just belabours the point and even undercuts the power of a particular reveal or climactic scene because it's been telegraphed too far in advance.

There are always exceptions of course, you may recall that I dig the Rogue Cut of DOFP. Why? Because it adds so many extra layers to the movie, it's not just added bloat that simply takes longer to reach the same conclusions, I get a very different reflection of several of the characters in the process. I liked the theatrical but I loved the Rogue Cut. I cannot say the same for the longer version of Leon.

I am all over this. I only really care for the director's cut, but it's always best to have all versions of any film.
