Hi since I also didn't see a 3D bluray release thread I decided to create one so everyone can talk about a potential 3D bluray for this movie here.

When I saw the 3D trailer, the 3D layers appeared as medium to high medium 3D layering. Looks promising in 3D.

It's being released June 2, 2017, the same day as Wonder Woman 3D.

I do hope that fox decides to release a 3D bluray because they didn't for trolls but are doing one for the boss baby. Still who knows if this will get a 3D bluray it certainly should since it's being released in 3D in theatres and because it is made in the 1:85:1 aspect ratio. Though again it's all up in the air boss baby may have gotten one only because it did so well on opening weekend and this movie is only predicted to make 30 million on its opening weekend. I do hope this makes enough money to warrant a 3D bluray release and a sequel as there are 12 books based on captain underpants.

I'm surprised that critics have been so positive about this movie, especially with the amount of potty-based humor it seems to have.

Thanks. Yes, hopefully this will be on blu ray 3D as with Boss Baby 3D. Any one get a chance to see this on opening weekend in 3D? Next week is Mummy 3D, so odds are slim this will remain in 3D for long, with Wonder Woman 3D also already in theaters.

Saw it with my 9yo daughter. We both enjoyed it a lot. Neither one of us knew anything about the books. The 3D had really strong layering but very few popouts unfortunately.

Interesting they added live action, thanks. I'm picturing Spongebob the Movie 3D's live action and CGI. Did you like the 3D?

Yes good 3D but my attention was seeing my young cousins reaction to it (their first 3d as well as movie theater experience)

My theaters have Captain Underpants 3D going well into next week in 3D, which is good to see.

Cool. I still remember being 2 years old and seeing a movie in the theater. I remember the red curtains opened up, and the movie started right away, no previews. I'll never forget how epic it was to sit in a giant, dark theater, looking up at a giant screen. Then eventually I saw my first theme park 3D movie and first Viewmaster 3D reels.

Amazon has preorders up for the Blu-ray and 4K versions of this movie, but 3D is nowhere to be found.

2D Blu-ray release is September 12 and I can't find any reference to any 3D release in any country, so it appears not to be happening. Not my most wanted title to be sure, but it's always a blow if 3D is not released.
