Default Is Blade Runner BD already "fine?"

I want to buy Blade Runner, but I am afraid of the "HD DVD disc" that may come by mistake and the "rough edges" you guys are always complaining about.

Are those issues already fixed by Warner? And I am sorry but what the hell are rough edges anyway?

I don't know what people are complaining about these "rough edges." It's fine I did not get a duplicate of Disc 1 and I can't even understand the deal with the rough edges, it's a must have.

even if your disc does have the rough edges i don't believe it has any effect at all on the play back of the disc

My Blade Runner set (US 5 disc) is fine too... No HD-DVDs or mega rough edges.

Are you guys talking about rough edges on the actual disc?! Good grief, is there nothing else to complain about?

The edges on my disc 1 does feel just a tad bit rougher than the rest, but I put it in my PS3 (horizontally), and it doesn't make a sound during playback, unlike what people were reporting earlier. Also, my disc 5 is the real "Workprint" version and not a duplicate of disc 1.

One thing that P.O.'ed me, was that I bought it brand-new from Amazon.com and when it arrived, it did in fact have the factory shrink wrap and security sticker intact. Now the weird thing is this: all the discs were in place and had not jarred loose during shipping, yet 3 of 5 discs have minor scratches on them....

Mine has the correct discs. There are some rough edges, which isn't a problem since I watch them, I don't feel them up.

The movie looks fantastic on blu, and the Final Cut is definitely the way to watch it.

Mine five disc set was fine, all disc were correct and played with no problem. PQ is the best, a great looking movie that was ahead of its time.

I have 2 five-disc sets ... one with 2 copies of the Final Cut and one with the disc 5 Workprint.

I got the Ultimate collection briefcase, they had the rough edges but played fine on the PS3 and made no distinct noise when playing. Also had no duplicates, HD-DVDs or any other problems. I got it for Christmas and after reading about all the problems I was worried, but no problems thank God.

Instead of complaining about rough edges (which doesn't effect the playback) perhaps people should be commenting on the posterization prevalent in many scenes on the Final Cut version. I didn't check the bit-rate, but I'm willing to guess it's low.

Although I love the movie and am glad I own it, the posterization in quite a few scenes was very noticeable. It was very reminiscent of Planet Earth (which blamed the posterization on HDcams). This time however, it was film with the same effect.

Audio also sounded 'old' in parts and not remastered on the TrueHD track. I'd have given this transfer a 3-4 star in audio and video and not the 5/5 that was given on HDD.

My set was fine, except that a few of the discs came loose in the packaging.

Thankfully, BDs have that scratch resistant coating.
