Should open up this week thereabouts, same as PS3.

In general: Shortages and demand issues are not expected with the Wii. Nintendo's pretty good about that sort of thing.

I'll be waiting. Although Nintendo hasn't confirmed this, I heard that they may exceed numbers on launch day, in other ways, have more on launch day then expected which is good. Reggie said that he would hand out Wii's on launch day in New York.

Reggie is a crazy man. Way too much PR and overblown rhetoric, although he does amuse me sometimes.

Nintendo ( and MS) are both counting on people who get caught and burned by PS3's shortages to have money burning a whole in their pockets and eager to buy something new.

Some innovations from the Wii could cause problems... Like the IR.

It's a recycled GameCube with a few extra bells and whistles.

GameCube 1.5 with a gimmick controller pretty much sums it all up.

The link that talks about the Wii sensor bar, doesn't seem to be a big problem. It's like you don't want the sun's rays shinning on a PSP screen because the sun's rays and LCD screens don't go together anyway.

No idea. I'd have to believe very shortly thereafter.

Same situation as PS3.
