Default For those of you who went Purple, are you going to double dip...

Are you going to double dip and repurchase your HD DVD titles in Blu-ray?

And if so, which titles?

I'm OCD, so of course I am! I only have 8 HD-DVDs anyway.

i couldn't see the point in rebuying a movie just to have it on blu-ray. Its not going to look any better maybe sound better with maybe a few extra features but not enough to spend another $20-$30.

No, I do not plan on double dipping at this point, but eventually yes. I actually plan on keeping my A3 to use to play my existing HDDVD and SD movies for now though. The only thing that is going to change is my purchasing habits. I will probably continue to buy the very few universal and paramount titles I want (Face Off, Lucky #Slevin, American Gangster and Beowulf, literally), but will purchase all other movies in Blu (which is what I have been doing). I know, I know...What for? As I have always said, I just like to enjoy HD.

Nope, will not double dip at all. The only thing I am doing is going to switch out my brand new Harry Potter movies for the Blu-ray versions. From now on I only buy Blu.

No i will not double dip, i have 15 hd dvds and 12 are univseral and 2 warner brothers and 1 paramount. As of right now I cant double dip anyways. No point in selling these titles either and buying them on blu ray, that would be lost money. Im just gonna keep my player and hd dvds and invest in a blu ray within the next month

Hopefully this whole WB thing won't stop the production of combo players. If Samsung or someone else ends up coming out with one that will fully support both TrueHD and DTS-MA as well as BD-Live I won't have to double dip. If this isn't the case though, I'll re-buy Transformers, the Bourne trilogy, The Thing, Hot Fuzz, Children of Men and Stardust.

I only ever bought titles available on both in Blu. I don't plan to buy existing titles I own on HDDVD in Blu unless there is something that warrants it, such as a 5 star PQ rating over a previous 3 or 4 star rating and and accompanied lossless track and a slew of HD special features. Otherwise, I just feel like I'm ahead of the game

I haven't bought a title since Hot Fuzz. Most of the HD-DVD I have are used, I think 4 of the 9 that I have now are currently available for import. As soon as Hot Fuzz and Serenity are on Blu-ray, I'm sure I won't need to keep my 360 add-on (which I purchased before the PS3 was even out) anymore...but I still probably will.

I will not double dip either, unless the disk is remastered and offers something I feel I can live without. As stated previously by another poster, I will purchase a few remaining Paramount titles I want on HD-DVD, but have switched over to Blu for all my newest purchases (2001, A Clockwork Orange, and Pan's Labyrinth).

I will keep my XA2 to watch the 93 HD titles I currently have, but will be adding to my Blu collection tomorrow with SM3, Crank, The Descent, Hellboy, From Hell, Hairspray and Shoot 'Em Up! Got a late Xmas present (BB gift card) - what better way to use it.....

With those purchases tomorrow, I will have purchased 32 Blu titles since 12/15, when my wife purchased a DMP-30 for me! Time for a break from purchasing to allow time to watch them all......

I haven't gone purple yet and I am still debating whether or not to keep my 40ish HD DVDs.

I say I won't double dip, but I probably will, I just can't pass up certain titles when they make the transition to Blu.

I will since it is only one hd dvd. I can't wait until this is over, then I can retire my HD-A1.

Well I have a few HD DVD tittles left.I sold a few to DVD Pawn and I traded some in at the local Gamestop for some PS3 games.I still have some HD DVD movies.I dont think I'm going to double dip with movies like Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factury. I will must likely keep my remaining HD DVD tittles as I know some day they will be collectors items. But I'm no longer going to buy HD DVD discs.I was thinking about buying The 3rd Bourne movie on HD DVD but after Warners announcement I changed my mind.

Thankfully I only have one HD-DVD left which is Zodiac...and being a Fincher *****, I will definitely double-dip on in it when Paramount release the Blu-Ray version.
