Default CODECS and the war ending

After seeing movies with different CODECS I must admit AVC seems to give a better picture than VC-1. To accomodate both camps the format neutral companies used the VC-1 more. I think we'll see AVC more now that the war is just about over. Expert opinions?

They're essentially the same, you're just seeing the limitations of HD DVD bandwidth that Warner's encodes are set to

Try Dave Matthews or DejaVu for excellent VC-1 encodes

My hope is that they always no matter the movie strive to get the best possible video quality. Not just rush it to market.

After there is trully only one format reviewers will be a little tougher on their ratings. Which they should be.

...far from expert opinion, but I sure hope AVC gets more widely adopted. While a VC-1 CAN look as good, I always wonder if I got gypped on titles that were just VC-1 ports from HDDVD (what's that? ) - USE THAT EXTRA ROOM, STUDIOS! GIMME EYE (and ear) CANDY!
edit: And if i'm not mistaken, VC-1 is Microsoft's baby? so I figure it'll get used LESS anyway......

VC-1 is just as good as AVC, hopefully those two codecs will be the ones that are widely used.
