Oscar winners Geraldine Page (The Trip to Bountiful, Sweet Bird of Youth) and Ruth Gordon (Harold and Maude, Rosemary’s Baby) sharpen their claws on each other in this chilling thriller about a lost fortune, a mad heiress and a housekeeper hell-bent on digging up the truth. Mrs. Marrable (Page) is a society matron who's had some shocking news: her late husband left her only a stamp collection. Determined to maintain her extravagant lifestyle, she takes advantage of an unlikely new source of income—her housekeepers, by robbing them not only of their life savings, but also their lives. The turnover rate for help speeds faster than a revolving door... until Mrs. Marrable's latest hire, Mrs. Dimmock (Gordon), develops a drive to unearth the terrible secret buried in the front yard. Directed Lee H. Katzin (Le Mans) and co-starring Rosemary Forsyth (How Do I Love Thee?). Produced by Robert Aldrich (The Grissom Gang).

Hooray! Another Psycho Biddie movie! This is one of my favorites. Geraldine Page chews through the scenery with a fury!

This was a fun film to watch. Some great actresses turning in some campy performances.

I was out of the country during the summer of 1969, missing such watershed American events as Teddy Kennedy and Chappaquidick, Charles Manson and Helter Skelter, America landing the first man on the moon, the Stonewall Riot, and the Woodstock festival.

When I finally returned to the states, the very first thing I did was to go see WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO AUNT ALICE. That film is my recollection of returning stateside.

Oooo, I'm looking forward to this one. I love Geraldine Page, and here she gets to camp it up a bit.

Maybe he thinks it's a sequel to What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte and What Ever Happened to Aunt Alice? are all considered sort of an unofficial trilogy of films produced by Robert Aldrich linked together by common themes.

Looks like this has a tentative release date of 23 October, according to the Kino Lorber thread. So, just in time for Halloween....

No, the Kino Lorber insider has stated that AUNT ALICE has been bumped to early 2019. However, THE GRISSOM GANG and THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE are scheduled for November 27th.

Of all Kino’s recent announcements, this is my most anticipated so hopefully there’s some more news soon.

I think I might have pre-ordered this, but it's been so long I can't remember any more.
