Default Picked up Sunshine at BB today

I went to Best Buy today to purchase a Warner title but as I was about to leave, I noticed one copy of Sunshine near the end of the shelf. I didn't end up getting a Warner movie, but I have several on the way from the Amazon BOGO's. Strange that Best Buy put a title out before its release date. They are usually good about that sort of thing.

I don't know much about Sunshine, but I do like Danny Boyle's films. Trainspotting was my first DVD purchase, and I have watched it many times. I plan on watching Sunshine this evening.

PQ=5/5

No less.

Screw hidefbias.com -_-V Ive had the film for a week now and seen it 3 times. The entire movie is demo ready.

SQ= 5/5

WIth an onkyo 805 receiver, and 7.1 surround sound , I couldnt go past -25db due to the fact that some scenes had thunderous audio, and it knocked overe my dvd rack, and shook my WII MOTES off the table.

I popped it in my PS3 just now to verify that PIP is available, and sure enough it works. I personally don't care too much for the feature.

The Sun is dying, and they are the second crew (the first mission was lost) on a mission to reignite the Sun.

Its about life dying on earth because the sun is dying. No light = certain death. The story starts 6 months into the voyage of the ship which is going to reignite the sun with a payload of nuclear gear. Its a bit like Alien without the Alien. Lots of chit chat, outside walks in space, keeping food and oxygen levels good and dealing with the unexpected.

I just saw Con Air in BB last week. It was also released a week before it was suppose to come out. Kinda weird to see BB make this mistake.

Just finished watching Sunshine. Let me first say that it is a far cry from "28 Days Later" when it comes to picture quality. I give it a 5/5 in PQ. I also give it a 5/5 in AQ. Very powerful score as we have come to expect from Boyle's films and offered in DTS-HD MA (though my PS3 took it down to DTS ). As for the movie, I would give it a 2.5/5, maybe a 3. It reminded me a bit of "Event Horizon". The movie is loaded with eye candy, which is why it could squeeze another half point in.

I think with catalog titles there isn't any stipulation about having to wait until a specific release date.

Just got done watching this for review. Terrific film. My one complaint, as mentioned above, was the change in pace in the film. It still works really well, but it certainly drops a notch once the turning point happens. Still a fantastic movie. Look for the review on the front page tomorrow evening.

Thanks for the reviews, I'm going to check it out.

I would probably blind buy it if it wasn't an expensive Fox title.

Well, don't expect people to be lottie da when confined in a small group of people in a space shuttle for a few years. You won't be psychologically stable when you only have one attempt to save the world and if you screw this up, you end life as we know it. So the change of pace of the movie was probably something the writer wanted to portray so we are able to view/experience what people would go through in intense situations.
