HUGE BD Software Sales in Q4! - Blu-ray Forum

Yesterday the HD DVD promo group kind of let it slip how well blu-ray software sales have been. They said that HD DVD has an attach rate 2x that of blu-ray (this use to be 4x). Keep in mind when they do attach rates they INCLUDE PS3. Now a few months ago it was revealed that HD DVD had sold about 2.4 million discs, so with the holiday season its safe to assume they have sold around 3 million. They have roughly 800,000 HD DVD players sold in the market this gives us a attach rate of around 3.75 discs per player Divide that in half and we get an attach rate of blu-rat if 1.875 discs per player. With the PS3 and SAL sales there are roughly 3.2 million blu-ray players in the market, that puts blu-ray software totals at around the 6 million mark.

Q4 sales had to be very close to 2 million discs sold in America.
