Exclamation Official Support Group for HD DVD / Neutral Members

As some of you recall, though I am the founder of the blu-bloods, I DO take small joking jabs at camp red. However, I am one of the few who actually has respect and sympothy for camp red and the "purple nurples". (Still working on a better name.)

This thread is not for "in your face", or "I told you so" comments. We are here to pat you on the back for a good fight, and encourage you to adopt blu-ray. No one says you have to let go of red, just adopt bd.

Let's gently face facts. Warner and New Line Cinema are going blu-sclusive after May. Universal and Paramount can't be far behind. Seeing how Paramount already did support blu-ray, those technicians must be itching to burn for blu again. Even the retail shelf space is going to dry up soon.

Bear in mind, you don't need to convert all yoru movies to BD. There are still plenty of folks who prefer vynil records, 8-track & cassette tapes, CD, Laserdisc/ VideoDisc, BetaMax and VHS. You can collect HD DVD all you want until you are, umm, ahh, -well, blu in the face.

You can buy an extra player for cheap as a backup. Your money spent wasn't a total loss. You can still enjoy the movies, right? You could probably get a good 10 years of casual use from your machine. 20 with a spare. After that, you probably are willing to just dump it all.

Even I am keeping some family video on VHS for originals sake. Alas, one day the signal will degrade beyond usefulness and will be gone. But we all know the players of the future will only support DVD and blu-ray, not HD DVD.

So, vent your frustrations, tell us your plans, or just pick a shoulder to cry on. We are here, we are blu, and we want you to be too.

I'm actually on HD-DVD.com right now, showing that not all Blu-ray people are gloating, infact I'm doing so looking into getting a HD-DVD player as a collectors item, I'm hoping it'll be worth something in the future, collectors love this sort of thing.

regardless, we can keep hostilities up but that'll only keep the war going, as much as I'd love to see those who were spreading FUD punished (no Blu-ray for you), I want this war over now. so I think it's in everyones best interest to make peace.

Cool

If you're talking about members that jumped into neutral after the whole Paramount and "I'm sorry, but I've decided to go purple for Transformers" fiasco, then I say screw'em. They wasted their money on the red garbage media when they should have stayed tru-blu. Hope they learned their lesson and good luck pawning that red crap off

It appears the old saying is true. Good deeds never go unpunished, eh? I, for one, am ready to provide a shoulder.

"Lean on me... when you're not strong. I'll be your friend. I'll help you carry on. And it won't be long... 'til you have... some BLU-RAY to lean on."

I love you guys, so entertaining. If anyone is losing sleep over the Warner news they better get their head checked. And really no need to keep rubbing it in to anyone. It's beyond format war for some ppl, which is kind of frightening.

It's over, that's all there is to it. Move on

They chose a format that lost. Its not the end of the world. They can just get a PS3 or a stand alone BD player and move on. Its what I would have done if RED had come out on top and Blu was the looser.

Anyone who chose HD-DVD within the last 6 months should have done the research on the formats and made an educated choice. But they were seduced by cheap players and FUD.

As long as they don't troll or stir up trouble, we should all welcome those people to Blu and this board.
