This should be a pressed MOD disc.

From the looks of things Sony has stopped with BD-R on their MOD titles.

Stopped following this Sony MOD line after reading about BD-Rs being used for Neighbors, Marie Antoinette, and Real Genius. Was unaware of them changing over to pressed discs. Will get this then too if that’s the case. I’d reconsider the others mentioned above as well...

Hm, I wonder if Sony is planning a Blu-ray release for Mothra next year to cash in on Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and decided to dump their remaining Toho titles out through their MOD program. I suppose we could see The H-man next.

I mean, I didn't expect them to release any of their Godzilla titles to Blu-ray when the 2014 film came out, but they did, so thinking they'd do the same with Mothra isn't unreasonable. Battle in Outer Space would be hard to cross sell with Godzilla anyway.

The releases since June have been pressed discs.

Most of these are barebones and overpriced so I've just been hanging on to the DVDs hoping for these to come down a little. I'd like to upgrade to Blu-ray, but a lot of them aren't titles I watch all that much to drop $28 a piece for.

I really think these would sell better if they dropped them to MSRP of $19.99 and sold around $15, or at the very least have a sale occasionally on them, but apparently they are moving copies otherwise they would have lowered prices of quit releasing this line.

in the 21th century: i think subtitles are essential and necessary - even myself Need sometime subtitles - specially when I'm watching a movie in english (Need english subtitles) or French (Need French subtitles) or german (Need german subtitles).

I had no idea that their policy changed--good news!

Sony discs are still over-priced I believe but on this title, I'm willing to take a chance if it is pressed.
