How do we know Lionsgate is no longer supporting UV? I must have missed it.

(Side note: I really wish they would join MA, but I wonder if it would be somewhat messy to do so, considering they had UV on a lot of the Miramax catalog - don't know if it would extend to just their own titles or the Miramax titles as well.)

You're apparently still signed in though. I couldn't see the screen shot at all. I signed into VUDU's forum, and it showed up as soon as I refreshed this thread.

I read vudu forums without ever signing in ... when I saw this thread and the seemingly-empty OP, i logged in there and then after doing so, the image showed in the OP...which was my point; that you needed to be logged in there to view the attachment here.

I wouldn't wait around delaying any Lionsgate UV redemptions. Sites like VUDU get paid for each UV redemption and a studio has every reason to void older codes once they've determined UV is no longer in their plans.

I just got The Crow and No Country For Old Men recently, and was trying to get She's All That and Serendipity too. I have She's All That on iTunes but it doesn't filter over to any other sites so I was going to just finally pick up the Blu+UV. (I did consider getting it on VUDU's weekend sale but I like physical copies whenever possible.) Wondering if I should even bother at this point if the UV copies are potentially worthless.

I suspect it's only a matter of time. I think everybody assumed Lionsgate would be the next mini-major studio to do so.

Will it come BEFORE MA's one year anniversary in October is the question in my mind, and will Lionsgate pull a FOX and revoke UV rights on older titles soon?


I'm happy I redeemed the two "Red" films, "Kick-Ass" and "Dredd" on FandangoNow this past week, as it added all four films to my UV account.

They're not worthless. It's still a digital copy, and Lionsgate hasn't revoked older titles' UV redemptions. They've simply stopped enabling UV on newer titles.

Don't know about Serendipity but the UV code for She's All That should have expired in 2015. That said, I just redeemed No Country For Old Men this week and that "may" expire after 2015 also so I guess I'll chance it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the whole digital movie locker ecosystem is still very much broken and that's why I prize physical discs over everything. (Good thing for me that a lot of people are dumping their discs in favor of streaming lately, and at rock bottom prices!)

So the sole studio that supports UV exclusively now is Paramount, with Sony and WB participating in both, although I have seen some WB older titles come up as MA only, not UV. Great! Not!

My bad. I wasn't thinking about expiration dates. If you get them cheap enough though, a $2.00 M2D fee (per title) isn't too bad.

UV only have two major studios left, SONY and WB

those two have their own store/collection (sonypicturesstore/wballaccess) that uses UV. let see how long UV lasts.
