United Kingdom Halloween Horror Month 2018

Halloween Horror Month 2018

It's that time again, another Halloween Horror Month, where I watch 31 films in 31 days.
So this is my 7th year doing this, having stated in 2012, and it has always been a fun experience. Basically if it's listed as horror, as it's main or sub-genre, it qualifies. My main focus is horror, but if it's a film that fits more with Halloween theme rather than horror, with witches, vampires etc. they'll be options too. But don't feel like you need to follow that, if you want to open it up or be more selective go for it. My wider net just helps keep it varied.
If you have/use the blu-ray.com My Movies app (set to genres > horror), that's a useful way of seeing at a glance what horror you have in your collection.

If this sounds like fun, feel free to join in.
My advice would be to not be too tough on yourself if you miss a day or three (life takes over sometimes), I inevitably end up catching up on weekends. Of course not everyone has the time to watch 7x 90m+ films per week, if you can't just have fun and watch some horror in October!

I try not to go into the month with grand plans, best to just watch what you are feeling like that night. But saying that, I was considering doing some original vs remakes over the month, eg. Romero's Dead trilogy vs Savini's Night, Snyder's Dawn and the pretty awful Day remake.

Starting the month with a classic sci-fi horror, 'Alien'.

I’m doing this in the movie section but will gladly join in here too although as I stated there,I doubt I’ll get 31 in but we’ll see how I go.

Starting off tonight with this Hitchcock classic:

The Mrs loves her horror but has never seen it so looking forward to hearing what she thinks,5/5 for me.

Well done Dave, joining you for what I think is the fourth year in a row.

Blown away by how good this actually is, having grown up on the original I’m always a little wary of remakes. This is great. UHD looks awesome too.

Oh? Won’t let me add film? Stephen Kings IT.

1st - Miss Leslie's Dolls, *** Good, creepy low budget, fairly bad acting, however quite an original storyline kept me entertained.

2nd - Theatre of Blood, ** OK, excellent cast, felt like too many set pieces, not one for slasher/grindhouse fans (like myself).

Up early again this morning, and 4.30am only adds to the atmosphere when putting on a Hammer movie.
