Default A Nightmare on Elm Street 35th anniversary screenings

I noticed a couple of days ago that my local Regal is having a 1 night showing of A Nightmare on Elm Street on Feb 12. Then I realized this year marks the film's 35th anniversary.

Anyone else have this playing near them? I went ahead an got my ticket, cause I've never seen this one in theatres. I don't believe it's a Fathom event either, because I don't see any news about it and it's not on their website. Just curious if it's just my theatre or what.

I’d love to catch this on the big screen, but I doubt I’ll get a chance.

When part 4 was released, my local theater (no lie; it was on Elm Street) showed a marathon of parts 1 - 4. It was the first theatrical marathon I attended, and I had a blast. That was the only time I've seen the original and part 2 on the big screen.

I would've loved to have gone to that marathon.

I still remember the ad in the paper: "See all 4 Nightmare films...at the Theater on Elm Street!" There was someone dressed as Freddy who would pop up in the theater from time to time, too. No idea if he worked there...

I recall when Freddy's Dead was released in the UK (Jan 1992) my late, lamented, local fleapit did a series marathon (1-6 on 35mm, natch), but as the films were all '18' and I was 12, I was far too young to see it. Those were the days.

Good news: The NOES screening is coming to my neighborhood
Bad news: It's the same day as the Alita early screening...and I already locked in my ticket for it.

Darn, not showing here as far as I can tell.

Interestingly, I was trying to remember if I saw in the theater or not ... but I can't! Yeesh.

My theater has it for $5 and you got a combo for $5 too. I would go. But I can't sadly.

Seeing this with my wife on Tuesday! I am beyond excited. This is one of a few movies that I need to see on the big screen. I’m looking forward to now getting my chance to! And $5 a pop makes it even sweeter!

I managed to change my Alita ticket to Thursday in order to attend this screening.
It also appears that Warner Bros. are partnering with Regal so odds are that they'll supply actual DCPs.

Welp...we may be getting hit with a snowstorm tomorrow night so there’s a good chance we won’t be able to go anymore. I’m gonna be sooooooo bummed if we can’t.

Awww bummer. It's playing in one theater here in Austin tomorrow but it's far down south for me and wouldn't quite be worth driving during rush hours.

So regal sent me an offer to “redeem credits” for a 35th Anniversary Blu of Elm street. The cover looks no different and there is no distinction as to what makes it a special anniversary edition. I’m not going to get it haha but I wonder if there’s something special coming this year (4K please!) or just a repackage.

The email didn't mention that the BD was a 35th anniversary edition. They mentioned the had an anniversary print.
