Default Amir has retired from Microsoft

It sounds like he left on his own, but who knows?

I believe he left because he had nothing to do.

But I do hope he enjoys his retirement and realizes their is more to life than posting message.

You paid shill POS loser.

You set the HDM industry and its consumers back 3 years with your FUD.

I hope you never find gainful employment in the tech industry again.

Amir actually retired when they took him out of his previous position. He tried to put a positive spin on it with a lot of BS about him bing offer a new position. It appears the only position offered to him was real retirement. But so is his legacy at Microsoft - he got so involved in politics that it consumed him and in the end contributed to his downfall. In his posts he was trying (unsuccessfully) to defend his legacy. But it's not easy defending something built on half-truths.

Meanwhile I see Maxpower is getting badgered by pro-HD DVD zealots and the pro-HD DVD mods continue to do nothing.

There was a discussion about the non-issue of BD replication "issues" where I was going at it with Lee Stewart. Max stepped in, straightened out a lot of the bullshit, and poof! the thread was "disappeared."

To be fair they have removed a lot of post (I even got them to remove several by Amir.) But Max to a certain degree is bring it upon himself. I am proud to say Max is just too honest. Their is absolutely no BS in his posts and he chooses to respond to the troublemakers with honesty and integrity. This honesty just inflames these HD-DVD guys and gives them openings for more inflammatory comments.

Rubin locked the thread for a little while earlier but that was it. Poor Max is getting shelled over there by the HD DuDrs.

Why even bother going to AVS? It's a losing battle and it's completely overrun by zealots. We're talking about a forum that allowed a HD DVD insider, Amir, to spin FUD and conveniently remove users and threads that would dispel and refute that FUD. Posts from HD DVD supporters run rampant without any restraint while Blu-ray posters are punished for being fans of the format. It has lost all objectivity and credibility in my opinion.

Give max credit he does a great job over there and has some pretty tough skin.

Also it seems the amir announcement derailed those duders for the time, I wonder how the mods will treat the few insiders left that do post there, I do notice they seems to be allowing some new "insiders" pop up out of no where to spread the fud tho

It will be interesting to see if Amir is still considered an "insider" after this. Anyone want to place bets?
