Might as well continue the discussion here. So, is Wal-Mart really going to go Blu exclusive?

I think he was referring to this thread on HDD- the OP just didn't have the evidence to back it up. At 1:18 a guy says Walmart's not selling HD DVD players in physical stores, only online- but I think he's confused with Target.

Is Target only selling blu ray in the stores and HD DVD is only available online?

Actually the whole thing goes back to an error by a talking head on CNN that said walmart instead of Target.

In his defense he was from GB and probably wasn't familiar with the difference. No offense to brits as I am sure most brits know the difference but this guy it would apear did not know the difference.

At the Wal-marts in my area, they have all the HD DVDs on an endcap. They didn't have that set-up before the Warner announcement. Therefore, I can only see that as a tactic to get rid of that inventory. There are some HD-A2s still sitting in those locations as well.

I work for a Wal Mart and as far as I know there was no word as to wether or not we were going Blu exclusive. Would be nice though. I saw an A2 for $198, but it was the only one. We also have a really old RCA hd dvd player as well. On our endcap, we have five rows of Blu and three of hd dvd. We sell far more Blu than hd dvd. So who knows? It would be nice if we did. Not sure if any managment in our store would know for sure, but I could try asking and see.

Ever been to the Wal-mart in Orlando, Florida, just off John Young Parkway? DON'T DO IT. I went in there one time at 3 am to get some batteries, and it was like a refugee camp. Dozens of different foreign tourists in all shapes, sizes and "aromas"... naked kids running around the toy aisles... some homeless guy preparing a Cup 'o Noodles in a display microwave while singing The Beach Boys... a girl with Progeria yelling cuss words at her parents in Portuguese... and no, I was not on drugs. It was the scariest experience of my life, and I have been tazered in the neck by a 300 lb guy named Bull.

(OK, that last part is a lie... he was like... 260.)

The moral of my story is that I don't set foot in Wal-mart, and I also moved away from Florida.

Target was suppose to drop HD DVD prior the past holiday season, we all know that it did not happen. Bill Hunt did mention that BB is looking to move blu exclusive sometime soon.

I tought my Wal-Mart was bad. LOL! I have been trying to avoid ours for a long time, but recently I had to pick up batteries for my Harmony Remote , and I was desperate enough to visit Wal-Mart. I was pleasantly surprised that the store was remodeled, aisles widened (my biggest pet peeve), and they actually had many Blu-ray selections including about 10 copies of Sunshine. However, I'm not certain if I'll go out of my way to visit again unless I need something at a weird time of day!

That story just made my day, thanks! Mine isn't quite that bad, but luckily 99.9% of the patrons there don't even know what HD or BluRay is, lol.

Is there a pricing-thread somewhere here already? Like Amazon vs. Walmart vs. xxxxxx vs. etc. on Blu-Ray releases, comparing same titles...

I just get a job as analyst. I been saying for a long time now that To-shit-ba will eventually produce a dual format player to save face with they're customers.

Besides I am alot better looking that the guy on the CNN video.lol
