Wireless or Virtual Surround Speakers?

Has anyone has any experience with a virtual surround system or wireless speakers? Are there any wireless speakers? I have a fairly large living room but with the entertainment niche that the builder has in my condo, it doesn't rrally support a lucrative surround system. I HATE wires all over the place and I would have to do some drilling, etc.

Does anyone recommend these "virtual surround" speakers that I keep seeing? I know CNET recommends one but I am sure its a waste of money. Any input?

If you are definitely going to go with one or the either I would go with the virtual surround speaker. You will get very poor audio and noise with wireless speakers. However, my recommendation is always to stick with a full surround setup with wires. It just cannot be beat.

i have wireless surround speakers and i have no loss of auio or noise coming out of them... it actually sounds pretty good for the price i paid for the system. it is the sony dav-hdx500 w/ the wireless (bought seperately) whole thing was about $500

Rocketfish wireless surround at BB. I have them and they work for me.

I'd definitely go virtual over wireless, but the key to making it work effectively is that you have a room with walls on both sides. Basically the sound is reflected off the walls toward the listening position.
