I hope it's got both cuts AND the original audio mix for the theatrical cut, though the extended scenes will always look like crap.

Universal is the one studio where you never seem to have to worry about the inclusion of multiple cuts on their 4K discs. My kingdom for them to own DOCTOR SLEEP...

It’s universal so chances are there will be a U.S release since all other universal catalogs so far have had US releases.

Sure. I just hope they don't do what they did with their BD rendition of the extended cut and include entire swathes of material from the preview print that was otherwise identical to the theatrical cut, only in worse quality of course. I can understand not wanting an extended scene to be too jarring when it cuts back and forth between the OG footage and the print, but what they did for the HD master was ridiculous.

I don't think Universal, who've been on their best behaviour most of the time, are about to do something so egregious.

Let's also remember this is a comedy. So hopefully Paramount are watching how well it sells. They might just bump up that release for Beverly Hills Cop.

Or Hope's for Trading Palces, Coming To America.

Speaking of Paramount though. Here we have Universal about to drop a 40th for Blues Brothers, and where is Paramount with Airplane! 40th...

Airplane, that rare breed of universally loved comedy film. Something that can unite everyone in the UHD nut house...

That was on the tellybox just the other night, still cracked me up. It's one of my all time favourite movies, not just comedies but movies in general. Odd thing was, I watched Marriage Story the very next day and who's in it as the grandma but Julie flippin' Hagerty!! Had no idea she was in it at all, didn't even know she was still acting.

I need to watch Marriage Story. It's good to see Scarlett getting back into some serious acting again.

I don't think Julie Hagerty knows she's still acting, judging by her performance in Marriage Story.

I'm really excited for a 4K release of The Blues Brothers. The Universal Blu-ray is very underwhelming for such a classic film.

Oh dear God.
Landis is scum, but this is a perfect movie.
It's a real shame that universal is all about audio remixes.

Grandma? THANKS Geoff for making me feel old. (She's only a year older than me, but I still want her to have my babies -- too late for that now?)

Amazing, never got around to upgrading the DVD for this. Day one. I just hope we get the theatrical cut.

Hah! You're not wrong about her in Marriage Story

As for the Brothers Blue I've always liked the Blu-ray (odd overuse of the preview print in the extended cut aside) as it's one of the least ****ed-with catalogue transfers that Universal have ever done, in that 'era' at least.

Always good to see more titles. Always. I just never had an interest in this film, myself.
