If I'm bitstreaming via optical, should I set the "PCM Down Sampling" setting to off on the BDP? I don't hear a difference when I do it, but I wonder if I should anyway.

I could be wrong, but i believe downsampling is used when a receiver cannot handle above a certain level. i.e. it would take 96kHz, and down-sample to 48kHz that the receiver can handle... If the track your listening to is at the lower range already, no difference would be evident...
Edit: and yes I would leave it off. If sound drops out during playback of movies, you'll know you need to turn that back on. Last edited by Slec; 01-19-2008 at 08:49 PM. |
