Video is great, grainy HD (not destroyed as Shanghai 13 was). Audio is .....

It would be great, but even if it doesn't, all the Kani releases that I've bought so far worked fine on my Region B player.

Do their releases come with newly translated subtitles? I own the Mei Ah DVD which has typical crappy Chinglish subs.

Some of them just list English subtitles, while others list newly translated English subs. Maybe it depends on whether the old subtitles were good enough, I don't know. What I've watched so far was good.

Kani has done all newly translated English subtitles for their four Hong Kong releases, even when they are not specifically advertised as "new," like for Viva Erotica. That's part of their MO... "films with subtitles." No "Chinglish."

Now streaming on Criterion Channel and KANI's logo is in front of it. Makes me think that's going to be one of the titles revealed by Vinegar Syndrome this Sunday.
