Those are some staggering sales numbers. What kind of screwed up numbers were the HDDVD guys reading from when they said they beat us during Christmas? These #'s here show one serious a$$ whooping......

Brutal is the only word for this:

As you can see, HD-DVD player sales dropped dramatically in the week after Warner's announcement, while Blu-ray Disc player sales nearly doubled over the same period.

And he said this didn't include PS3s. While doing my weekly shopping, I have noticed that the Target stores in my area have not had any PS3s in stock for the last couple weeks since the Warner announcement. The case kind of reminds me of the Wii case. Sold out.

i'm more curious about the results during the week of January 14 because some people would have taken advantage of the price cuts of HD DVD hardware and software.

Very nearly an 85% decline in sales share. Ugly.

Jeebus, can you say "Game over"?

Gotta hear some of the HD-DVD backers try to spin these charts. LOL

Black friday sales only. Even Warner and Toshiba said SA sales were higher on BD then HD-DVD the 4 weeks before christmas.

But Toshiba spun it with the 360 add on, excluding the PS3 and calling it a 49/51 split with Toshiba drives outselling Sony players (easy to do since BD has several CE player and the LG was counted by both camps.

To complete the data provided, here's the other chart comparing Dec to Jan sales:

Note that both charts do not include the XBox add-on or the PS3.

Wow! But the second week of January probably reflects thousands of returned HD DVD players. Week 3 will reflect the current status quo more accurately.
