Germany The Trapp Family (1956) and The Trapp Family in America (1958)

I think everybody knows about The Sound of Music (1965) with Julie Andrews is probably the most famous story about the Trapp Family. But there was a 1956 film from West Germany that pre-dated The Sound of Music. Anybody know The Trapp Family/Die Trapp-Familie from 1956:

And the 1958 sequel, The Trapp Family in America/Die Trapp-Familie in Amerika:

The 2 films was bought by 20th Century Fox (who would later do the 1965 movie adaptation of the Rodger & Hammerstein musical) & they combined the 2 movies and dubbed it in English. This is the US English movie poster of that release:

The problem is for many years, the 2 movies had never seen a subtitled release in the US/North America. I just found out that in Germany, both movies had seen DVD releases (pictured below):

And now, I just found out both movie got a BD release in Germany:

I would love to see both of these films getting a US release on BD given that the 2 films helped inspired the Sound of Music (both the musical & 1965 musical film adaptation of the same name).

I would love it if Criterion, Arrow Films, Kino Lorber, or even Film Movement can get the film release (and with the original German audio, and English subtitles. I wouldn't mind if they include the English-dubbed "combined" version). I mean if the Sissi trilogy can get a US BD release many years later (courtesy of Film Movement, and that came with US version: Forever, my Love included in the collection), then why not the Trapp Family? I think a lot of fans of The Sound of Music would want to watch the film that inspired the musical. It would be awesome if one of the companies I mentioned above can get the US home video right for it's US/North American release.
