Default something huge i just realized

last year the super bowl spurred more than 2 million hdtv purchases. this year, once again hdtvs are being sold in mass numbers because of the super bowl. however, this year every single sharp, samsung, panasonic, and sony full hdtv purchase gets a free blu-ray player added on. i would imagine that between those four brands they make up at least a third of the hdtv market, meaning that a couple hundred thousand blu-ray players are going to be given away to consumers in the month of january. blu-ray is going to blow by hd dvd in terms of standalone sales at any moment now, if they havn't already.

also, this is key in blu-ray fighting dvd, as this promo will have enable blu-ray in a couple hundred thousand more households who might have just stuck with dvd until prices came down, but now they are blu.
