Default Guitar Hero 3 Question

Hi. I just bought guitar hero 3 today and was trying to get it working. I got the guitar to work but the middle 3 buttons do not work. The only ones that I get a response with are the green (first) button and the orange (last) button. The middle three don't do anything. I've downloaded the latest update as well. Is there something else I need to do or did I just get a busted guitar? Thanks,

Cory

My guess would be a busted guitar.

The guitar neck isn't making a stable connection to the body.

Pull the neck off. Inside the slot where the body is there are 6 or 8 prongs. Push them all down a couple times. And make sure they go in and out.

Then firmly reconnect the neck.

If not, bring it back to the store. These things were made like crap, and stores are well aware of that.

When I saw the detachable neck, I said "Yeah, that's a good idea". Anytime you have something that requires contacts is only asking for trouble. Hardwired is the best.

PS3 version is crap. If activision doesn't do something about the lag, I'm done with the series and will probably end up selling GH3.

Everyone talks about the huge timing window that makes gh3 so bloody easy. The wireless lag signal from the USB dongle pretty much negates that and the game plays like GH2 on precision mode.

I routinely adjust my lag settings by 1 or 2ms increments around 115ms for audio - the game is that bloody sensitive to streak-keeping on difficult songs on Expert.

Go to options and calibrate it to your tv. Every tv is different. Took me 3 calibrations to get it perfect.

I haven't had any problems with lag at all . . . have you done the calibration?

I had massive lag problems. I did the calibration 10 times. Got 10 different numbers and just used the average. It was still off, and thats when I decided to trade it in. The wireless dongle does screw up the PS3 version. Some people have it perfectly set, and I'm sure makes the game enjoyable, but I was having a hard time passing songs on hard and I play on expert.

I had the PS3 GH3 and i play the Wii version at a friends house. there is a some what of a delay with the PS3 but after the patch that went away. if you are still having issues with the PS3 version, you most likely have a faulty guitar or USB conector. If you go to youtube there's alot of people playing on extreme hards songs getting good socores. So that leaves to that most people just suck at it and like to find something to blame it on besides thenselves.

The Wii might have the most accurate guitar but it looks like crap, and sometimes the screen glitches.

Yes, but if you go on scorehero.com you'll realize there's a huge discrepancy between the best scores on the ps2/wii/360 and the best scores on the ps3. It's not impossible to achieve good scores on the ps3, but the difficultly of doing so is greatly increased.

Add to that lots of PS3 players who have claimed that they tried the game on a different console and immediately achieved higher scores on average. The problem speaks for itself.

I'm ranked 8th on scorehero/Expert and in the top 15 on the online leaderboards for Expert career mode, so forgive me if I don't agree with your "sucking" argument.

I stated in my post that my TV calibration was set to 115ms on average.
