Default Best front projector?

I've got a 46" 1080p LCD and I'm looking for a projector thats really gonna pop like my LCD does. So far I think I'm gonna go with the Sony VPL-VW60. I can get it for about $4000. Any opinions?

It's really the only good one we sell at Future Shop, but anyone know of a better bang for your buck?

The highly regarded LCOS/SXRD projector comes from JVC and Sony respectively. Most DLP projectors are single chips so try to avoid that; of course that means if you want three-chip DLP projectors, you might have to sell your kidney and lungs.

Best bet is to go into specialty projector shops and see which projector strikes your fancy. Also see if you're interested in exploring constant height screens as that would affect the projector you'll be choosing.

Default Vidikron?

Have you looked into Vidikron? I know they are significantly more expensive as the 1080P models start at around 16,995.00, but if you have the money to invest they do kick a$$. That Sony is an awsome value though. Depending on when you buy, there may be a host of others in the similar price range that can challenge the Sony for best bang!

Sony has a new projector (VPL-VW40) that will become available in a few weeks. It costs only $3,000. I can recommend the Epson Home Cinema 1080ub. It became available in January 2008. It costs $2,799 after a $200 rebate.

Read my comments in another thread on projectors. There are additional useful links there.
