Default Costco (quietly) ending HDDVD Support?

I have heard mention on several of the forums (and other sites) about retailers closing out HDDVD hardware, etc. and choosing not to restock their inventories, but I thought this one was interesting.

I was in my local Costco this past week and saw the Blu-Ray display prominently moved to a high traffic section of the store, but lo and behold, I could not find the HDDVD player(s) from Toshiba anywhere. Then I found this over next to the section where they typically move out Demo Display TVs, etc. :

Is this the end of HDDVD Support at yet another retailer?

The costco near my place quietly removes all HDM sections.

No HD DVD/Blu-ray Players/Movies. There was quite some movies/players before.

IMHO, Costco stores are WEAK when it comes to HDM movies. The only ones I see at the local Costco are The Simpsons and Harry Potter 5 in BD. Same stuft at other Costcos nearby. When will they start stocking BD movies?

I second this. Costco has always been weak on HD -- both Blu & Red. They've carried HD material just sporatically.

2-3 years ago Costco quietly started shifting away from dvd and cd sales at most locations. I think the margin they make on the titles just doesn't justify the space they take up so they have narrowed greatly what they stock and carry. It's why BD and HD DVD never have had much presence at Costco except in hardware. Even when Blu-ray has every movie studio I doubt you'll see much at Costco outside of a few titles.

Our Costco in the UK just got 50 BD-P1400's. No HD-DVD in sight.
