I don't think Crysis even won game of the year. It was a let down, I havent played it so I am just throwing in my 1 cent.

graphics wise nothing comes close to it...but gameplay wise there were mixed reviews...but if the cryengine can run on ps3 then thats just better for everybody...

The funny thing is that the article's title mentions the Xbox 360, but the article only said "and possibly on the Xbox 360". The only thing that seems to be clear from the information provided is that it will be demo'ed on the PS3. Some people just can't hide their inner fanboy even when they need to (damn writers).

January 29, 2008 - CryENGINE 2, which powers the technologically-advanced first-person shooter Crysis, is known to bring even high-end PCs to their knees. While console gamers would love to get their hands on Crysis, developer Crytek has said current-gen consoles just aren't powerful enough to run the game well. Next month at the Game Developers Conference, though, the developer will be demonstrating the technology behind Crysis running on an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, opening the door for other games to enable its eye-popping visuals.

A while back we spotted a Crytek job listing looking for PlayStation 3 programmers.

Among its other plans at the show, Crytek will be giving a demonstration of how the fully-optimized engine can perform perfectly well on a budget PC for about $600. The team is also hosting a session called "Crysis in the Making" to discuss the demands of creating Crysis and the CryENGINE 2.

Are the Crysis graphics in-game really that incredible? I've been reading about it for at least a year now, but the pictures don't look terribly special. I've never seen the game in action yet, so it could be everything they've said it is.

Personally, I think Gears of War photos look more impressive, and I'm not a fan of the 360 at all. Is Crysis really the bomb visually?

This looks hot. The only game I'd love to see more on PS3 than Crysis (in terms of visuals) is the new id Software game. 50gb storage capacity FTW!

Graphics engines built from the ground up for the PS3 only will produce better results than multiplatform engines heavily optimised for PS3.

Fortunate that looks like they finally started to optimize the engine.

Maybe the next CryTek game won't require that I go SLI.
