Default I work at Fry's on weekends and people still buy HD-DUD players...why?

One guy last SAturday even called Blu-Ray.....Betamax 2 while buying his HD-DUD player. When I told him that Time Warner and New Line are going exclusive he asked me where did I hear that and told him the internet...and in a sarcastic voice he said...."If it came from the internet it must be true" and pointed at his head and walked away. What an idiot....which probably explained why his first credit card was declined

Some people will believe horsesh** and disregard facts... screw 'em!
Keep an eye out for him when he either returns the POS or comes back to get a BD player.

Wave to him and point to your head.

wow, what an idiot. How could he not of known about Warner? I would think if you were going to purchase a somewhat expensive item you would do your research about it first. He will soon learn that he purchased Betamax 2. Maybe you should have told him you heard it on the news, that information has been on the news, in newspapers, magazines, and internet.

These are the people I don't feel bad for. I still hold a little sympathy for the uninformed consumer that is led to believe HD DVD will be a competitive format for years to come. HD DVD looks pretty good, but Blu is absolutely stunning.

Caveat emptor... "Let the buyer beware". People that do not research before they buy deserve the what they get.

he probably went home got online and went, "Oh Sh1t!" he'll just keep his player or ebay it as he is probably too embarassed to go return it to Fry's.

You should have told him that major news corporations like Reuters, The New York Times, CNN, USA Today, and Fox News all reported it.

Went to best buy and an older guy was looking at an HD dvd player. I informed him about Warner and he didn't believe me. Told him a Blu player would be better and he looks at me and says that blu-ray players won't play dvd's so he won't buy one until it does. Some people are just misinformed. Just another reason this war needs to end.

Wow.... just... wow.... lol That's all I can say. Should have told him it was on CNBC (it was), but then I guess he wouldn't have learned his lesson.

It's his money. Wait less than 30 days and he'll be back returning his HD-DUD player.

You should have told him it's on Time Warner's press release page.

You told him the truth right? What did he do after you told him?

Good, the sooner they clear them out, the sooner they can dump HD-DVD.

This is a very common misconception that the BDA and we as Blu advocates must change.
