This should make a few people happy. The Film Detective will be releasing a Special Edition Blu-ray for The Brain From Planet Arous (1957) on June 21st. It will feature a commentary track from Tom Weaver, and a newly produced extra from Ballyhoo among other supplements.

Get ready for planet Earth to be overtaken by a criminal brain from outer space! When Gor, an evil brain from planet Arous, inhabits the body of scientist Steve March, his intention is nothing less than world domination. Lucky for Earth, another intergalactic brain, Val, offers to assist March's wife, Sally, in stopping the madness. How does Val intend to help? By inhabiting Sally's dog! A great example of cut-rate sci-fi from the 1950s, this independently produced feature stars B movie favorite John Agar (The Mole People, Revenge of the Creature), and was directed by Nathan Juran, a master of the genre who helmed such classics as The Deadly Mantis, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.

It does look like Film Detective licensed a whole slew of titles from Wade Williams, who has been notoriously difficult to deal with. Glad to see he's finally come around. Keep these titles coming!!!

I'm not privy to any insider knowledge, it's just that I remember a "rumor" a year or so ago that FD had the Ed Wood films licensed. Those are "owned" by WW, and they haven't shown up yet, unfortunately, but we have received a few other Wade Williams films from FD since:

Giant From the Unknown
The Other Side of Madness
Frankenstein's Daughter
Flight to Mars

... maybe another one or two???

I'm nervous about how these will sell, so I pre-order the ones I want. I really hope these non-Wood titles sell decent enough so I can get my hands on my other most wanted W.W. held properties...

Oh, I forgot about Monster From Green Hell - Blu also coming soon from FD. I have that under pre-order already - it's hokey fun. And all the other ones you mention are good ones, especially The Crawling Eye for me. Such great monsters.

Haha, I just realized I called Monster from Green Hell as hokey fun, I meant to say that about Devil Girl From Mars! Yes, lots of talk in DG, which can happen a lot in these films, but it delivers enough goofiness to override that.

I remember Green Hell being pretty dull and dire, but I haven't seen it in years. Maybe I was just expecting too much after seeing pics of the monsters in FM magazine for years before. Lots of "stock footage" if I remember correctly. Regardless, I want to check it out again and go into it with lower expectations. I also saw it on a lower end VHS release, not the DVD, it was one of the only WW/Image DVD's I never picked up for some reason.

Not too much talk at all, just enough to lay out the story line. This movie is a lot of fun if you are a fan of these types of films because of the creative and crazy special effects and the scenes that will bring a smile to your face as you say to yourself, "What the hell? They cant be serious!". It is one of those movies I want to watch again as the end credits are rolling....
