This should make a few people happy. The Film Detective will be releasing a Special Edition Blu-ray for The Brain From Planet Arous (1957) on June 21st. It will feature a commentary track from Tom Weaver, and a newly produced extra from Ballyhoo among other supplements.

It does look like Film Detective licensed a whole slew of titles from Wade Williams, who has been notoriously difficult to deal with. Glad to see he's finally come around. Keep these titles coming!!!

I'm not privy to any insider knowledge, it's just that I remember a "rumor" a year or so ago that FD had the Ed Wood films licensed. Those are "owned" by WW, and they haven't shown up yet, unfortunately, but we have received a few other Wade Williams films from FD since:
Giant From the Unknown The Other Side of Madness Frankenstein's Daughter Flight to Mars ... maybe another one or two??? And now... Brain from Planet Arous. |

Cat-Women of the Moon Teenage Monster Bride of the Gorilla The Crawling Eye Mesa of the Lost Women The Astounding She-Monster Invaders From Mars If we get these from Film Detective with the love and care they are giving the other films, I will be a very happy man. In the meanwhile, I am blind buying and pre-ordering their other releases that I think I might like such as Monster From Green Hell, Giant From The Unknown and Frankenstein's Daughter. I would even buy this one although everyone talks way too much but it is just goofy enough to still be fun ... ![]() Last edited by Rzzzz; 02-05-2022 at 08:42 PM. |

Haha, I just realized I called Monster from Green Hell as hokey fun, I meant to say that about Devil Girl From Mars!
![]() I remember Green Hell being pretty dull and dire, but I haven't seen it in years. Maybe I was just expecting too much after seeing pics of the monsters in FM magazine for years before. Lots of "stock footage" if I remember correctly. Regardless, I want to check it out again and go into it with lower expectations. I also saw it on a lower end VHS release, not the DVD, it was one of the only WW/Image DVD's I never picked up for some reason. |

Let's not forget about KRONOS. It's actually a really good movie released by Fox at the time.

Not too much talk at all, just enough to lay out the story line. This movie is a lot of fun if you are a fan of these types of films because of the creative and crazy special effects and the scenes that will bring a smile to your face as you say to yourself, "What the hell? They cant be serious!". It is one of those movies I want to watch again as the end credits are rolling....
