Advice to fix an LCD burn-in? - Blu-ray Forum

hi i had my first ever prob with my tv. its a small little burn in. its just one tiny little dot on my tv that stays green. anyone know how much itwould cost to fix? its not really noticeable when im playing or watchin blurays but it still bothers me. any help would be appreciated thanks.

Have you tried the white-out method?

Oh no, no - I mean it's an image of just BRIGHT WHITE displayed on your screen that is supposed to clear burn in. How you would do it, I don't remember - what make/model is your TV and how long have you had it?

LCD's generally do not suffer from burn in. The old CRT monitors and to a smaller extend, the Plasma TV's have a burn in problem. Most probably, you have a dead pixel. Talk to the manufacturer and see if the warranty covers it.

What you have there is a stuck pixel. I had a stuck pixel on my Sharp Aquos not to long ago and I fixed it. This is what I did: with the TV turned on, apply pressure to the spot where the pixel is with your finger, maybe put a micro-fiber cloth over your finger first, or something that wont scratch your screen. Then message the spot where the pixel is, turn the TV off while still messaging it and then turn it back on. That should fix the pixel. If it does not work on the first try, try varying the amounts of pressure and the time that the TV is on and off. Be very careful not to use too much pressure because you do not want to damage your screen. Good Luck.

Yea. It worked on the first try. I had done it before on other TVs.

i have one dead one on mine that chances awhole bunch of diffent colors..that a dead pixel?..only one i can notice when im face close on the screen..not a big problem

reading the book of my tv...says its normal for LCD to have a dead pixal..

not lucky i guess...but not really noticable to me in the bedroom

I had a stuck pixel (red) when I bought my LCD then a few weeks later another one came stuck (blue or green can't remember) but they both magically dissapeared

There might be a "Stuck Pixel Remover" disc out on the web somewhere. I know I have seen them for PC monitors and the Sony PSP handheld. They flash a bunch different colors and it sometimes "unsticks" the pixel.

I agree with those thinking it's a dead pixel. My LCD has suffered from burn in (usually with dvd menus and the black bars that give you a 4:3 aspect ratio), but it's my fault. I forgot to set the sleep timer on the TV & the menu was displayed for several hours while I slept. When I awoke to find the It's Always Sunny in Phillidelphia menu ghosted on my XMB screen after I ejected it from my PS3, I freaked out & then did the white out method. Actually I think any bright solid color works, because I used a blue(no input) screen to fix it.

They do get it, but you can get rid of it rather easily.

But you're prob sounds like the previously mentioned pixel issue, of which I have no experience outside of poor broadcasts.
