My sound system includes a six year old SONY a/v receiver that 5.1 compatible (I forgot the model number), and my PS3 serves as my Blu-ray player. My problem is that so far both Black Hawk Down and Fifth Element audio are only outputting in PCM. My setting on the PS3 seems correct, and the game Elders Scroll IV: Oblivion is outputting in 5.1 while the blue light on my receiver that indicates 5.1 is lit. It's only when I play Blu-rays is when the sound is outputted at PCM even when I have the audio set to 5.1 from the Blu-ray disc menu. I still have the receiver set at "auto detect", and I'm at work now so I haven't had much of a chance to play with it. Any suggestions or answers?
