This is my first thread ever, so I apologize if I'm not doing this right.
I posted this in another thread but it belongs here too. I noticed that Kino's blu-ray of The Premature Burial (1962) is no longer on their site and that its starting to become a bit expensive to own elsewhere, so I'm assuming its OOP or at least heading that direction. Tales of Terror (1962) is already OOP here in the states. The rest from Shout! and Kino still appear readily in stock and not going away quite soon. Does anyone have any guesses or opinions of if or when the cycle as a whole will get a release as a whole? Watching the Poe Cycle has been one of the highlights of this year for me. I know that no one knows who long the rights of them will stay with Shout! and Kino here in the US, nor Arrow and Studio Canal in the UK, but you'd think we'd eventually get a set containing them all. Obviously all of the films getting a 4K release is wishful thinking at this point. New scans/restorations for all of them (except Masque of the Red Death, that had a recent 4K restoration) would be great at this point. But 4K or not, I'd love for it to be like the limited edition Arrow set, with the reversible covers and a hard bound book filled with essays and whatnot. (I'd give anything to own the LE set right now. It, along with The Vincent Price Collection II, are my current grails.) |
