Default Panasonic BD10 question

I have a BD10 upgraded to firmware 2.4 and thinking about dabbling with the 7.1 out. Does it really sound much better than coaxial digital out? Also can I output DD true and DTS HD through the 8 analogue outs instead of the HDMI as I am a little confused by this?
Cheers for any help and good to see blu finally winning the war. After investing in blu so early it's a relief after a nervous 12 months.
