Question Your predictions: Next major event in Blu-ray's favour?

After the major news about Warner/New Line/HBO going Blu-ray exclusive, what is the most likely bit of bad news for HD DVD we are going to see in the coming weeks?

All that's really left is to see who jumps ship next--Paramount, Universal, or Toshiba.

I think we are already seeing it. It's happening slowly, so the HD DVD die-hards are not seeing it, not acknowledging it, or just flat out denying it.

The retailers are clearing stock (not announcing that it is a clearance) thus paving the way for the retailers to stand behind one format.

Universal & Paramount only announcing a hand full of titles. Universal cancelling HD DVD/non combo reissues of Dazed & Confused and Land of the Dead.

Toshiba not announcing any new players.

Other distributors/studios/foreign retailers dropping HD DVD.

It all adds up. It's not something that is going to happen.... it is currently happening.

Ken Graffeo will go insane soon after June 1st and start wearing a green cape to Universal board meetings declaring himself the "Emerald Crusader" and that HD-DVD will eventually come back because he has worked out a deal with Toshiba to give away HD-DVD players with McDonald's Happy Meals instead of small Hockey Sticks.

About a month later the poster from HDD "HD-Now" will report on his website that he just got sold a Happy Meal from an Assistant Manager at a local McDonald's bearing a striking resemblance to Mr. Graffeo.

Soon after we will hear unconfirmed reports of a great deal of Sebuku being done at Toshiba head office.

Toshiba then announces their super-duper upscaler and what will come as a surprise to many in the CE industry, it will be the worlds first HD-DVD player and George Foreman Grill combo.

After that both Graffeo and the Toshiba CEO will be beaten to death with wet fish by their Yakuza masters.

I'm hoping something good, and soon. HD-DVD fanboys are driving me nuts on HDD. This is my first post here.

I'm hoping a Paramount defection (first sign being the Amazon sale).

Indeed, the red ants are already crowing about this weeks Nielsen's, not seeing the fact that even in a BOGO week they can't manage much better than 3-1.

Batman Begins and The Matrix selling a million unit or more each. This probably will get Universal looking at Blu Ray.

HD DVD needs to release that the retailers care about is revenue and profits. and if blu-ray outsold hd dvd 6:1 normally and only 3:1 during a DUD BOGO, its the same difference to retailers (6:1 was the week initially after WB), so in all reality HD DVD is not making anymore money than in its worst week ever, in fact I believe its a little down now. The only difference is retailers get more product off their shelves now, which only matter unless they are liquidating stock *which they are*

LOL! Man, thats as pathetic as it gets for DUD. Even obliterating the GF Grill sales! Probably alot of returns on these down at Sears.

I hear there are children in Africa who are starving for any "HD" format at this point. Must be worse than I first thought.
