Blu-ray Use of Storage Advantage - Blu-ray Forum

A few months ago, I seem to recall that there was a movie or two that was released on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD, but the Blu-ray version had bettwer features because of the space availability.

Can anyone recall what that movie might have been and what the difference were? I seem to recall it was a pretty big announcement that one of the studios was giving Blu-ray a better version....I just can't remember the movie/movies?

Well, it had to be either Paramount or Warner, because those were the only two who ever released on both formats. My guess is that you're thinking about Paramount with Blades of Glory and Face/Off. Since neither of those made it to store shelves (well, some copies of Blades did), we'll never know...

It was commented by a number of people, including Bill Hunt of the The Digital Bits, that Transformers, which came out on HD DVD and did not include HD audio due to space issues, could have had a lossless audio track had Paramount not dropped Blu-ray.
