Is this the end of an era and another sign of the decline of the home video market?
It appears it's the end of the era. Remember all the NFL films on VHS, DVD and most recently Blu Ray. From Super Bowl 1 through LVII can be found in some home video format. BUT, this year LVIII has not been released nor is there an announcement of a release. For example last year's SB was announced in early Feb and released on 3/13/23. This year...Nada. This points to (maybe) the big issue with the decline of the home video market. But, even then why isn't there a streaming release? You have the highest rated SB in History. You have the fan base of Taylor Swift (I think I heard she has a loyal fan base???). So one would think, this would be a slam dunk release. My only far flung guess might be the shooting that took place at this year's Chief's Victory Parade. In past, Chiefs SB video's they featured the parade to mark the conclusion of the season. Otherwise, I find it perplexing. No streaming release, no home video release. Mods: If you feel the discussion is better suited for the wish list, I completely understand moving it. My hope is for a discussion not just on this title, but another sign of the overall decline/investment into the home video market Last edited by ronboster; 04-17-2024 at 11:52 PM. |
