Need help deciding on audio options

To get things out of the way, I use my PS3 as my BD player. I've been looking at getting the Onkyo 605, but I'm now looking at getting the Sony STR-DG 910 since it's cheaper. My question is:

1. Since the PS3 can't bit stream the new audio formats, what is the advantage of getting the 605 over the sony 910?

2. I was also looking at getting some cheaper polk speakers to go with the receiver ( http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Polk-...oductDetail.do) Are these good speakers for the cost? I don't have a large room, probably 15 x 10 or a little smaller, will these be good speakers to pair with either of those receivers?
