Default Blu-ray pricing?

Okay so today I walk into a Borders and look for Superbad on Blu-ray, I don't see it and ask if they have it. They say no but tell me I can order it for $50. :/ I just walk out and go to the Target next door, they have the movie for $30 which is what I'm willing to pay, and that was for all the movies and some were $19.

Why are some stores more expensive on blu-ray sales? I mean really a $20 gap is ALOT for a movie.

$50 USD? Em, isn't that more than the usual $39.99 'list' price? That's quite ridiculous that Borders would charge that much. Very rarely would anyone in here pay $39.99 either. It would make sense for the list price to be $29.99 or $34.99.

Unless there is a promotion or sale, Borders is NEVER a good place to buy movies. They don't just overcharge on Blu-Rays, but rather all forms of media other than books.

Um, Borders is pretty much always more expensive for both SD DVDs and BDs.

Really? I normally just go to Targets or Amazon.com for my purchases.

Reason I went to a Borders is because I didn't know Targets had blu-ray.

Yep, I've never seen any CD, SD DVD, BD, etc. cheap at Borders. And Target regular prices are higher than what you can get BDs for on the web, unless they go on sale. I like Target, but I haven't bought a BD from them yet.

Mine almost always has a sale on good movies. But because they just got into blu-ray(I think) they haven't had many sales on them yet.

Some stores are on crack with pricing.

My Best Buy is normally over priced on BD also, but Target and Wal-marts are ok, so you can always price match if your too lazy to go out of your way for a deal. Amazon is good also with the promotions.

Prices should drop faster once all retailers go all out in promoting one HD format this year and have to compete with each other.

To hell with that, Borders can keep their Blu-Ray's for that price, isn't their some kind of price cap for media?

Borders often has 40% off coupons which bring prices down to what you would expect. Planet earth was $99 and with the couple it was $59.

Never buy movies or CD from Borders. They're way over priced.
I only get clearance books from them.
Just as much as poeple hate going to Walmart. you can get better deal with them than any other places or get them from Amazon.com I bought a lot of my BD disc from them the 98% of them are used. They look just like brand new. Thanks to the anti scratch coating on BD disc. Instead of buying one new movie I get two used for the price of one.
