Default why hd-dvd's have dual sides...

so many people up to this point have thought that hd dvd's come with a dvd side and an hd dvd side to play on either your dvd or hd player. WRONG. the truth is because hd knew it wasnt going to survive past blu ray's release so instead of getting flooded with all their titles on ebay and a bunch of used titles in gamestop, the movies can be upconverted on some nice blu players. =) lol. but seriously folks. why would you want to have a sd version of a movie you bought in HD? i can see people wanting to take it with them on trips, then why not protect it with the coating that blu's have? all un important questions now...
