Unhappy Loseless Audio without HDMI Receiver and PS3

I have a receiver that does not have HDMI (Nakamichi AV-10) but does have mutlichannel analog inputs. My BD player is a PS3. Is there anyway to get Loseless Audio without upgrading my receiver or getting another BD player?

Sorry, but no. For the PS3 you need analog outs or an HDMI receiver.

only kind of lossless audio you can get from the ps3 without hdmi is via optical....and even then you can only get 2 channel stereo PCM.

Time for an upgrade!! Onkyo receivers are nice.

Of course you'll still be able to get DD and DTS from optical on your receiver so it's not like it won't sound good at all.

I am in the same boat as you. My Sony STR-DE935 has a setup for analog 5.1 PCM, but the PS3 has no outputs. I am looking into the STR-DA4300ES or 5300 to replace my 935, but I will keep it around in case I ever get a dedicated BD player and set it up in another room.

Thanks to all for your replies. It's time to upgrade and I think I have narrowed it to these two:

1. Pioneer 94 TXH
2. Denon 3808

I alos like tthe Onkyo 805/875, but I only have an inch of clearance with my cabinet so with the reported heating issue with the Onkyo, I am ruling it out for now.

I hate that. My reciever will only let me adjust the front speakers. The surround sound speaker blow my ears off. I had to go back to Optical

Between those two, I'd get the Pioneer.

Although there is no current way to get analog multichannel out of the PS3, I have always wondered if somewhere a year or two down the line we might not see a special PS3 output cable & a firmware update to optionally convert PCM internally to analog.

The PS3 does it with 2-channel audio over the included PS3-native output cable; there would seem to be nothing technically stopping multi-channel.

I would think it would just be "politically" wrong now for Sony to allow it. But, when full-featured standalone BD players get down to $100-200 dollars in the future, I couldn't see how anyone (BD partners) would be 'hurt' by a $50 analog multi-channel output cable option.
