I just bought a 40 inch Samsung 1080p 120 hz. Model # LN-t4069f.

Heres a link: http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/plas...ns/m/53763409/

What do you guys think? Good buy ?? I paid 1799.99 for it on sale from Bestbuy. Im happy. I have a 32 inch sharp 720p right now but as my blu ray collection rises i needed 1080p to know i was getting the best output possible...esp. with all the money im 'inputting' lol. Horrray!!

Congrats! I got one of these delivered 2/15. Using it with a PS3 and it is spectacular. Standard definition leaves some to be desired, but that is the same with all digital televisions.

If you would like to play around with settings, you can start here:

From the AVS LN-TXX69 Calibration thread:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=946248

Movie Mode settings for HDMI and Component:
Picture
Mode Movie
Contrast 85-100 (85 if you have a dark room and/or like subdued settings, 100 if you like a lot of "pop" or the room is well-lit)
Brightness 44 (46 for Component)
Sharpness 20 (0 for Component)
Color 50
Tint 50
Backlight 0-10 (4 if you have a dark room and/or like subdued settings, 8-10 if you like a lot of "pop" or the room is well-lit)

Color Tone Warm1
Digital NR Auto

Detailed Settings
Black Adjust Off
Dynamic Contrast Low
Gamma -1
Color Space Auto
Edge Enhancement On
xvYCC Off

White Balance
R-Offset 21
G-Offset 20
B-Offset 21
R-Gain 0
G-Gain 19 (21 for firmware versions below 1032)
B-Gain 26

My Color Control
Pink 21 (17 for Component)
Green 15
Blue 15
White 15

Setup
Energy Saving Off
HDMI Black Level Low (will be grayed out if the input is Component or if your HDMI video source is putting out a YCbCr signal instead of RGB - this is OK but RGB may be better as noted above)

Questions to anyone who has this or similar models....how come the 120hz motion when on it creates a ghosting or shadowing effect but when off its totally fine???

And is this problem getting fixed through firmware??

Thanks in advance for any helpful feedback.

Obviously you can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p right?
Or you wouldn't have upgraded. Please go on how 1080p is superior to 720p in every way.
Great price, congrats

120 hz is viewed by each human eye differently. some may see it some may not. it is actually ment for home videos and nature things as well as panning scenes. try it on planet earth instead of on die hard. youll see what im talking about.

ps

i have a 4065 adding to the fun

doesnt the 120hz supposed to work smoothly with fast action scenes like action movies and sports?? so what you're saying leave it low or off for movies and have it own for slow paced things?? kinda seems ironic to me but maybe im missing something..i am no professional when it comes to this kinda stuff...thanks for the input though.

Sadly, there's not much you can do about it.
Just learn to live with it.
