Default Superman Returns: Special Edition anyone?

Now that Warner will be going Blu only in June, anyone interested in a better version of Superman Returns? Maybe a Re-encode specially for Blu-ray...

And how about that darned 'Return to Krypton' beginning that should have been??!!

It's a completely new beginning to the movie mate!

It begins the movie with Kal'El in the ship inspecting the remnants of Krypton.

It's been filmed and everything! Bryan Singer is/was planning on releasing a director's cut of the movie with this restored footage.

Sounds ****in ace to me!

I think we'll have to wait until they release the entire Superman Collection on Blu-Ray.

I'm with you on this one. I think that an UBER Superman Collection will come out with all 4 originals, the Donner Cut of 'Superman II', the remaster/director cut of 'Superman Returns', the documentary 'Look Up In The Sky', and maybe a couple more discs with extra footage.

That way, all of us Superfreaks will want the 'Returns' SE bad enough that we'll fork out for an entire collection. I know that I'm willing if they are!

I don't know what they can do to this transfer since the movie in general was shot really soft. Its supposed to look this way.

I would definitely like a re-release, even if it's just a brand new encode. The last one was unimpressive.

i was really dissapointed with the detail on the superman returns blu-ray it was no where near the wow factor of casino royale, fifth element remastered etc really poor and was surprised because they said it was actually shot in HD and i think this film has an awful bluey greeny wash on it i dont know whats the idea of that but it annoys the hell out of me.

There was some hope for this when Man Of Steel was supposed to come out next year. Now, I probably wouldn't hold my breath (which sucks REAL bad, I want to see it too). I'd be happy for now if I could just find the @#$@#$ version with PCM and TrueHD.

Also, I'd rather have the original version of Superman II. The Donner Cut blows.

Have you ever read a Superman comic? Richard Lester didn't . . .

Yeah. While the Donner cut isn't perfect, it's vastly superior to Cellophane S-Shields and Super Kisses.

I too had heard of the "Return to Krypton" scene, but I also heard that they were thinking of adding it as a flashback sequence in the Man of Steel. I would love to see the scene.

I know that I am in the minority when I say that I enjoyed Superman Returns. It could have been a lot better and it was a rehash of the original, but I believe that it was a great setup movie to get Superman back to the people.

There needs to be a major comic villian in the next movie. Some big-time fight scenes with a ton of destruction. Supes needs to get his Butt kicked across the screen. That is what I want to see.

I enjoyed pretty much everything about the movie, except the Kid. Hated that. I like how they paid homage to the originals. I still feel he has the dumbest disguise ever, but that is besides the point. Maybe they could recast Lois, but beyond that, the formula can work, but bring on Darkseid or Brainiac. Maybe even Bizarro as a clone or something like that. Metallo and Parasite could be a blast too. There is just so much that could be done, but the Superman Rogue Gallery is virtually untapped on the big screen.

I would definitely like a re-release, maybe like they did with FMJ.

I would double dip for this. Re-encode the current releases and release all five films in a box set.

I loved the Robot Chicken parody of that scene.

I would also jump at an Ultimate Superman BD box set.
