Thumbs up Unknown world 1951 can't wait.

I have had different versions of this film since the early 80s. oddly enough, the cleanest version I've had was my VHS copy. the DVDs have all had jumps (missing frames of film). I'm looking forward to a decent release. it looks like now one is coming.
This film gets a good bit of bashing and is not a high budget classic, but I do enjoy it. There is a melancholy loneliness to the mood of it that fits perfectly to the situations the characters face. It isn't a fantasy in the style of "Journey to the Center of the Earth" but more like situations one could encounter if such a premise was possible (water shortages, being lost, loneliness, poison gas pockets). Of course, the overall premise is impossible, but then I have no problem with that. My only minor critiques is the ending is somewhat abrupt, and some characters can get a bit annoying at times. But still, I look forward to getting this Blu-ray on day one. This film does have its fans and I'm one.
