-ARMS - Res Bump + Framerate Bump + HDR support -Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - Res + HDR -Game Builder Garage - Res + Mouse controls -NSMB U Deluxe - Res -Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - Res + Framerate -Mario 3D World - Res Bump + Framerate / HDR (HDR is Bowser's Fury only) -Mario Odyssey - Res + HDR -Zelda Echoes of Wisdom - Res + HDR -Zelda Link's Awakening - Res + HDR I may give Odyssey a spin with HDR support. Maybe even give EoW another shot. Bounced off that pretty hard initially. |

I wonder if some of these were chosen mainly because they had playability issues and they tacked on improvements while in there like Arms and Captain Toad.
I didn’t expect them to be adding HDR. Now they HAVE to do Xenoblade. Quote:

Odyssey I never actually finished so I'll definitely fire that up again to see the increased res and HDR, even though I'm not expecting much more then a solid 1080p as opposed to the 900p it averages docked.
Surprised the 2 Zelda games aren't getting Frame rate patches as well, unless they are just naturally smoother on S2 without a specific patch |

So maybe I’m overcomplicating this. Any time I asked on other forums it was treated like a dumb question but again, Switch 1 software will run exactly as it did on Switch when played on Switch 2 unless patched, correct? If Nintendo is issuing updates for resolution and fps it would stand to reason that the “automatic brute force” that was thrown around any time I asked isn’t in fact happening, right?

The patches are likely to go past the coded maximums in the listed games. |

On the PS4 Pro they had an option to use the full clock rates with a warning if it causes issues to switch that off. They could do the same thing for Switch 2.

It’s because of the way the game was made, if it drops even one frame it craters down to 30 to prioritize consistency (double buffer vsync) in real time, that’s why it switches back and forth. Same reason Breath of the Wild would drop to 20 from 30. So the extra power should be more than enough to lock it at 60.

Though first I need to buy and play thru 3D World, never beat it on Wii U. Quote:
Unless they add new content like Kirby and the Forgotten Land or Super Mario Party Jamboree, then I think it's fair they're charging us extra money. |
