Thanks, Pieter!

It's probably too early to ask, but any guess about the expected release date in the US?

Is there going to be an unrated version of this one as well? Asking for a friend, of course.

I’m curious on this as well,
[Show spoiler]there were a few moments in the movie that were bloodier in the trailer.

I imagine so. In the movie there was a bunch of quick cut aways before it got messy.

[Show spoiler]A person gets their head knocked off in the shadow at the start. But at that con seems there was a lot of quick cuts to avoid the gory mess

It will be very disappointing if they don't include an unrated version as well.

This movie does have some really funny moments, and having some outlandishly violent moments would really help make it even funnier. Total gallows humor.

Given the success of the first and its unrated version, I’m hoping they went into this with the mindset to film some over-the-top violence for the express purpose of delivering another unrated disc. If they did, I suspect it hadn’t been announced as many people would outright refuse to see the neutered version in theater… although it seems it likely wouldn’t have hurt the box office all that much, as it were.

It also might be that the sequel was more specifically designed for PG-13 (I think the first movie was originally intended as an R), and any "unrated" extensions might feel tacked-on.

But I dunno; just speculating.

There is no way that the film wasn't cut down to get a PG-13 rating. In the first one, pretty much EVERY kill was censored and it's massively inferior to the unrated version as a result.

Kids aren’t going to the cinema now anyway, may as well make it an R / 18 from the offset.

Agree completely, although in the case of 2.0, it feels like they also wanted to have a bit more fun (sending up the genre, that kind of thing)... the gory humor should help so long as it hasn't been edited down.

Revisiting the 1st movie after watching 2.0 makes it feel like a very slow-burn movie!

The other Blumhouse releases this year have been 3 weeks for digital and 9 weeks for blu-ray/4K, so it should be 7/15 Digital and 8/26 physical

GERARD JOHNSTONE: There will be an unrated version with a few [extra] scenes. We pack a lot in… I get it, it’s a long time to sit in the theater. So, we really wanted the [theatrical cut] to be under two hours. However, in the unrated cut, you’ll see a few things that didn’t make it into the theatrical version.

Good, I just came back from a screening and it’s one of those rare sequels that is better than the first film, I can’t wait to pick it up on 4K in a few months

I didn't buy the first film because I thought it was just okay. However, I really liked 2.0 so I'll either buy this or perhaps a 2-pack if there is one.
