Australia The Last Seduction 4K UHD (1994)

https://viavision.com.au/shop/the-la...ollection-498/

Quote:
Quintessential neo-noir erotic thriller The Last Seduction comes to 4K UHD for the first time worldwide, fully restored by Imprint Films from the original 35mm negative.

Linda Fiorentino (Jade) stars as iconic femme fatale Bridget Gregory, alongside Peter Berg (Collateral) and Bill Pullman (Lost Highway), in a dark, twisted tale from director John Dahl (Red Rock West).

Passion, greed and revenge forge a desperate triangle between Bridget Gregory, who wants it all, her husband Clay, a doctor forced to deal drugs to pay off their debt to a violent and impatient loan shark Mike, drawn into a passionate affair with Bridget.

We are thrilled to present the film not only in its full colour Theatrical Cut on 4K UHD, but also in an exclusive Noir Edition on 4K UHD (with the full film in black-and-white), and in its Extended Version in standard-definition on Blu-ray. Blu-ray special features include brand NEW interviews with director John Dahl, actors Peter Berg and Bill Pullman, and key members of the crew.

Linda Fiorentino won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, the London Film Critics’ Circle Award for Actress of the Year, and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Last Seduction.

Limited Edition 4K UHD & Blu-ray 4-Disc Hardbox with an exclusive hardback booklet, plus hours of Special Features.

1500 copies only.

Hm, never heard of the extended edition before. Is it better than the regular one?

Never seen this. Any good. One gripe for me with Imprint is the extended versions they put on these kind of releases seem to lack subtitles. Being hard of hearing, it would be nice to have them.

I hope they manage at least one interview with Linda Fiorentino. It'd be a shame to have one of her career defining movie get such a lavish edition and not have her featured in the extras at all.

That being said, I'm all over this. I expect the price will be steep, considering it's Imprint and shipping to Europe is not cheap either, but I've been waiting for so long, I don't even care. We need more John Dahl in 4K and definitely more Linda Fiorentino.

PS: Anyone know how good Imprint's in-house remasters are?

Well this is a pleasant surprise. I have the Network BD but its barely passable. Whether the wallet can stretch that far is another thing as I have four foreign trips to make over the next three months.

This is huge news. The blu-rays were godawful. For the longest time, labels (inc Scorpion) were having a tough time locating the original camera negative.

Imprint have done some fantastic work here - Creating new special features with the key players plus a whole new B&W cut of the movie. I usually balk at their pricing, but this time I feel they deserve every cent. One of my favourite movies of all time given what looks like a dream release.

Now we just need FiM to re-weet the announcement and we're golden .....

Pretty sure FIM actually does their in house restorations, so I assume it’ll be encoded by them too

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is an in-house restoration which was not encoded by FiM, so there’s sadly no continuity. They even delegate the discs in a box-set to different encoders, of course to varying quality. I have given up attempting to find some logic in what they do.

Probably under some monastery's floor boards in Switzerland. The Olsens never ventured outside North America's west coast. If a negative wasn't somewhere between Seattle and San Diego, it didn't exist

I'll have to watch my Scorpion Blu to determine if I need this on 4K

For those in the U.S., would we have to order direct from viavision? Or will boutiques like Diabolik and Orbit have this available? The 1500 copies makes me nervous.
