Blu-Ray Recorders

Ok, now that the war is over, when do we think we'll start seeing Blu-ray recorders (stand alone) players in the US or elsewhere? I know they are huge sellers in Japan, so it shouldn't be as bad as when the first dvd recorders hit the US market at $1200 bucks for the first units (price inflation from 1998 to 2008 difference accepted). Or might this be something the group might hold off on until the consumers adopt blu-ray more? I know there were recorders like the BDZ-V9 ($2,600) and the BDZ-V7 ($2200), but that was back in december of 06 and never see them at stores.
