Not enough power for me, but it's an excellent receiver for sure.

Marantz don't make crap.

I was just tongue-in-cheeking that it looks alot like a Denon.

Because I am sure there are many similarities.

The Denon should be cheaper than the Marantz.

Marantz is the high end of the Denon products. That's why they have a $7000 SACD player which is stereo only.

The 2808 would be the comparable Denon model and its on sale in a few places for around $900.

The Marantz would be the better of the two in my opinion, although both are definitely great choices.

To be perfectly honest, I think you'll be happier than a pig in poop with that Marantz.

I don't think I've ever met a Marantz owner who doesn't like the company anymore.

I have a few friends that have Marantz receivers that I've advised to wait for the Panasonic DMP-BD50 so they can get a good Blu-ray player with analog outputs as I know they will not upgrade their receivers and they aren't HDMI compatible.

Off topic: Will the DMP-BD50 have 5.1 analog or 7.1?

I think I'll stick with the marantz regardless.

I'm pretty sure it is going to be 5.1, but I will ask.
