Default for the memory of a lifetime.....

recall recall reeeeecalllll!

i was so hesitant to buy total recall after reading all the bad reviews and comments on the bluray transfer, but i just attempted to watch my dvd version and no go, looked awful, and it looked like they stretched the picture to make it widescreen (dual sided dvd).

figured for $13 from amazon, wtf, give it a shot. all i can say is wow, its by far not reference material but it looks 100x better then my old version. to give this movie the awful reviews i have seen you have to be SPOILED on blu lol.
i plan on using this movie to demonstrate a "bad blu" lol for my friends, if this is what a bad blu looks like then i will definitely be adding some more blu fans to the fold.

Hey, thanks for that review. I also have the DVD (and love the movie) but havn't ever bothered with the BD because of all the reviews I heard. I'm not expecting every movie to look like Pirates, I just like to have the improvement.

I'll have my order in at Amazon in a few minutes

It is a definite upgrade from the DVD.

The reviews said it was crap, but I gambled too.

It was not that much for the Blu-ray, and it looks way better than the DVD.

Better than I have ever seen this movie, so it was a good choice.

I've stopped reading reviews, one says that something looks crap, one says that something looks good. First Blood has great reviews, but I couldn't put my disc on ebay fast enough, it look like sh*t and heavily DNR'd sh&t at that' Leave the f**king grain alone! In retrospect, I have a few Sony titles, Into The Blue and Talladega Nights for example, that got awful reviews yet look pretty damn good. I'm convinced that most of these reviewers are either bought shills or don't have a clue.

The funny thing is that altought the sound from the HD DVD is Speedup, the Transfert is way better. Not the Compression, but the transert. There's not a hint of Hair or dot when Arnold watch the news.

Lionsgate should do like sony and use the latest tool to scan and 'Dust Remove' ...

its definitly got little black pops and cracks but overall looks pretty good, imo. If it had been more then $13 and wasn't already one of my favorite arnold movies, then i would not be as impressed.

I thought the BD version made it 100% more enjoyable!
